Semarang – Universitas Islam Sultan Agung (UNISSULA) successfully hosted an international program entitled Wetskills Indonesia 2024. This program was jointly conducted by UNISSULA and Wetskills Foundation, an international partner based in the Netherlands. It was held for 2 weeks, starting from May 11 to 24, 2024 taking place in Semarang and Bali. Wetskills Indonesia 2024 was one of the side events to promote the 10th World Water Forum, a global-scale forum attended by water-related stakeholders from all over the world.
Participated by 17 participants from the Netherlands, Belgium, France, and Indonesia, Wetskills Indonesia 2024 provided series of activities in Semarang and Bali. These include site visits to several locations for study cases, seminars, classroom activities, and pitching competitions where the participants were divided into several groups to discuss and find solutions for existing water problems. The program was greatly facilitated by 2 instructors from the Wetskills Foundation (Ioana Dobrescu and Sannah Peters) as well as several water experts from UNISSULA and 3 case owners.
Wetksills Indonesia 2024 reflected strong commitment of UNISSULA under the leadership of Rector Prof. Dr. H. Gunarto, S.H., M.H. to provide opportunities for its students to have international exposures and networks. As a world-class Islamic university, UNISSULA will always strive to equip its future graduates with global competitiveness to be able to make greater contributions.
